At Chamberlain Group, I worked on three main projects with Liftmaster Gate Engineering
The objective of the first project was to investigate and pursue a common gearbox solution that could be implemented across all different swing and slide operators. Factors including speed, torque, speed, assembly line, efficiency, and manufacturing were all considered in the analysis. I was able to reduce the number of gearboxes by a factor of 3 across swing operators
The goal of the second project was to develop a single multi-stage gearbox with direct motor mount assembly to replace the dual gearbox that would provide net productivity (cost saving) to the product lines
My last project objective was to analysis the limit switch system for one of the operators and to determine the amount of total theoretical variation. I then proposed a design optimization to increase the opening angle of swing gates by 20°
